In 2008 I visited the Canadian War Cemetery in Holten. After seeing all the tombstones of mostly young people, I became interested in them. Who were they and what had they been through ? That's why I started a database containing as much information about them as I could find. Over the years I have visited many cemeteries, where I took pictures of the tombstones of victims of the Second World War.
Unfortunately, I haven't always written down the sources of the information and pictures in my database, so if you see a picture here that you have put on the net yourself, please send me a message using the form below or via the guestbook, so I can add the source of the picture or delete it. Photos and extra information are welcome too!
My database has become very large. There are also details of civilian casualties and soldiers that are MIA (Missing in Action). There are now about 20,000 persons listed, so it will take a while before I get everything online.
First I'll start with the victims buried in the cemeteries I visited and some soldiers that are MIA. Work in progress!
